Paul Kalkbrenner // A live Documentary // Download
Ho Ho Ho, looks like Santa delivered some early presents this year. DJ phenomenon Paul Kalkbrenner who with his movie Berlin Calling has already created a cult following has just dished out another big one with a live documentary of his recent European tour. A live Documentary is separated into two parts; parrt1 is accompanied by ten live performances/tracks which were performed in various European cities. During this time you get to witness Paul Kalkbrenner right from his midi-controller, following him from the airport to the city. You are part of the crowd, part of the atmosphere. Eargasms are guaranteed.
Check out the Melt! (I saw him there two years ago, biatch)
During this time it is hard to ignore the fact that almost all of the crowd caught in frame is female. But who doesn’t like looking at hot chicks? Fuck it I say. Scenes in between tracks are visually reworked by VJ duo Pfadfinderei who have collaborated with numerous other acts (Modeselektor being one of them) These creative and artful video sequences make the film very visually appealing and help drive the film forward.
Part 2 shows a glimpse of the making of the film and features videos from both Paul and Fritz Kalkbrenner.
I would obviously recommend this to any fan, but also to any person that wants to catch a glimpse of the current pop culture.
As always please turn those speakers up!
